Chris Townsend, CEO of Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK), Department for Culture, Media and Sport, started the day with his keynote speech about the UK's position on broadband connectivity.

David Wilde, Executive Director Place Operations and Chief Information Officer for Essex County Council, was one of the first speakers of the day. He discussed how the Essex economy is connected to the world. Follow the link below to view the slides from his presentation.

Paul Pritchard, Director of Abacus Accounting, shared with us his knowledge of accounting in the cloud using Xero software, as well as some business tips for doing less work and earning more money!

Richard Pond, Director of Business Connected, followed on from Paul's speech about cloud-software with a more in depth review of some of the cloud-based programmes that can aid businesses.

Matthew Hare, the CEO of rural Fibre-to-the-Home provider Gigaclear (and our delivery partner for the Rural Challenge Project) was part of network provider panel discussion.

Giles Ellerton, the Regional Partnership Director for BT, also participated in the network provider panel discussion, which gave the audience a Q&A opportunity.

Sarah Brockwell, Director of SarahBee Marketing, made sure everyone knew they were at Chelmsford City Racecourse by using a plethora of racing puns during her presentation: galloping through a number of marketing tips.
