We’re attending events across Essex to help residents understand what they need to do to prepare for the end of analogue phone lines. By 2027, traditional lines will be replaced by a digital landline service. This means that calls will be made over a broadband line.
Telephone providers should contact all residents before anything changes. Depending on the provider, this could be a letter, text, email, postcard or leaflet. If you are vulnerable, please contact your provider as soon as possible.
If you’d like to read more about the switch to digital landlines, visit Essex County Council's website, and if you would like the timeline for the switch to digital landlines, please visit this page.
Look out for more events the Digital Essex team will be attending in 2025 soon.
